Email from google this morning explaining that anyone on google+ can now email me. How nice.

This kind of thing makes me really

Surely I should have to opt in, not out.

I don't have that 'google+' thing in my settings though. Are you using Google+ MS? I read this yesterday which might be why the option is there?

Go to the settings and disable who can connect with you or e-mail you in G+

I don't know if I'm being paranoid but I feel that the chances of my nefarious internet activities being broadcast to all and sundry go up as each day passes thanks to Google and Facebook.

I have done that. But still makes me that I have to!

Don't really use google+ much - might just delete in protest!

I'm surprised you didn't mention this side effect.

That's an idea! If our stupid government want to continue with this obsession with illegal net porn (just driving the real problem underground while making it seem they are doing something IMO) maybe Google could broadcast any illegal activity to all the offender's email contacts. Why stop there when lots of info is in coookies etc? They could post a message to every bulletin board etc you are subscribed to.
