Well it would probably be an improvement to have a few folk like her in there and evict some of the current crop. It would certainly make our democracy more representative.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Any independent MPs that aren't beholden to the unions or corporations has to be a good thing, how much more corrupt than the party system can it be ?
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

I see she's going as an independent - no party will touch her.

Where's she going to get the £500 deposit from?

It's a Labour seat so good luck to her. I'm sure she won't have too much trouble getting donations for the fee.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Should those on benefits be excluded from the political process?

A candidate paid by taxpayers should have the same opportunity to enter the political affray as a candidate paid by a private company.

Of course, they share, like most that wake up one morning and decide to become a political minion, the same attributes and bias that make them the most unsuitable to represent the views of a democracy.

MPs already sponge off taxpayers, it just mean one less claiming benefits

So existing MPs should be excluded unless they are independently wealthy then? As should anyone currently working in public service, so doctors, policemen, military, or anyone collecting a pension. Oh yes and anyone with children or anyone terminally ill would be ruled out too.

Doesn't make for a very representative house does it.
