More than 500 Indian workers have died in Qatar building a football ground

Either they're terrible employes or their employers are slave drivers.

Either way Qatar 2022 should not be permitted to go ahead. Humanity has sunk to new lows when they consider it appropriate to hold a sport in what is a glorified moralism.

Not really new news I'm afraid. Migrants from poor countries like Nepal, Bangladesh etc have been treated like slaves in that part of the world for years. EG:

How does that compare to the death rate of construction workers in India ?

It sounds bad, but I can't imagine India being a hot bed of health and safety either
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

I understand slavery occurs in such regions. Just difficult to fathom an international organisation supports so many deaths so that others can kick a ball of compressed air.

thanks for that made me laugh.

unfortunately it will take interaction with such countries to make them realise their attitudes are wrong.

Thankfully the middle east has no oil so the west is free to point out to them the error of their ways.

And the climate is ideally suited for running around a football pitch for 90 minutes.

Also I hear that the their bars stock a wide range of beverages for travelling football fans to enjoy.
