    RIP Tony Benn

BBC News - Labour stalwart Tony Benn dies at 88

One of the good ones, IMO.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Ha, the guy on the news just said "Veteran Labour politician, Tony Bla.. Benn has died".

      Wishful thinking?

As well as being a man of principle, he had a reputation as a very decent and hard working constituency MP as well.

However, he will never be forgiven for using troops to break the power workers' strike. Or something like that anyway - I forget the details.

His finest hour. Apparently he didn't understand it was a wind up until one of his grandkids told him at Christmas.

I didn't agree with much of his politics, but he was an honourable chap & no mistake.

There are very few you could say that about these days.

I always thought he came out really well from that Ali G interview.

I saw him asleep on a Paddington-Bristol train once.

The grim reaper does seem to be concentrating on genuine Socialists this week - the few left must be bricking it.
