BBC News - India Supreme Court refuses to review gay sex ban

India's Supreme Court has refused to review its controversial decision to reinstate a 153-year-old law that criminalises homosexuality.

Judges dismissed petitions from the government and rights activists who say the order was wrong.

The Supreme Court judgement last month overturned a landmark 2009 Delhi High Court ruling decriminalising gay sex.
well that didn't get in the news much, or did I miss it?

To be fair the fear that gay boy Pooty Poot will roll tanks into Poland is probably more of a worry this side of the pond
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

before that the news channels were filled with don't go to Sochi they don't like gays.

Would have thought a few million gays being outlawed might have made the papers. Its slightly more interesting than what Miley Cyrus did/does.

You are not allowed to criticise India, its the best country in the world. It is! Really. Is!
If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.

it was the 'much' word you missed.

I was comparing to Russia's attitude to gays which was almost wall to wall coverage.

I thought it might of made a bigger splash and a few more celebs shouting about it. Miley doesn't really count.

Oddly enough Russian slang for a 'gay' is a 'blue' (or 'light blue' more accurately, different words for light blue and dark blue...)

I remember the even-more-anti-gay Communist Party slogan on their posters from about ten years ago was 'Better Red than Blue'

And most people seem to have ignored Uganda although that was featured quite heavily in the press. In fact what they're doing is pretty disgusting such as printing the names of homosexuals in the press, the Anti-Homosexuality Bill, etc.. Sanctions, such as a number of aid cuts have been put in place there though so maybe India might get hit as well.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Perhaps we could suggest a ban on ICTs until they repeal the law

Indian ICTs are here to help inadequately uneducated UK, says the rhetoric. They are doing UK the favour.
