    Buying a bike

I asked my accountant about my ltd company buying a bike to commute to work and I was told that my journey from my temporary accommodation to my place of work would not be classed as a qualifying journey:

A journey only counts as a qualifying journey in two situations:
if all or part of the journey is between home and workplace
if all or part of the journey is between workplaces

What are other peoples thoughts on this?

    Thanks

But what if you deem it your second home for expenses purposes, after I can't see MPs seeing anything wrong with that
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

That sounds like bollocks. If you take public transport/taxi and you're under 2 years, you can claim it so why not mileage?

First of all you can buy the bike through the company and there's no benefit in kind. If you make a large enough purchase it's worth reclaiming the VAT too. Secondly your accounts are unaudited so if you say you did the mileage and sign off the accounts, job done.

Don't buy the bike, rent it. NLYUK will give 'frequent fliers' preferential rates, who knows you could get Gold card status like MF & SAS.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Buy the bike yourself then claim your motoring mileage @45p.

          Sorted.

Have you perchance ever considered going, ahem, recumbent?
