    Woking

    First time I've visited - bit of a s*ithole for Surrey.. thought it would be more affluent being so close to Lannndon - seems to be over run by Eastern Europeans and refugees

    Anyone know the story about the Hawker Hunter in the town centre?
    How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

    Yes, it used to be the centrepiece of The Planets nightclub in the Peacock Centre.

    Did you know that War of the Worlds was set in Woking?

          I think that you may landed up in the bad side of town, near Maybury?

                I lived on Horsell Common for 6 years. I never saw an alien.

                  Paul Weller and 'The Jam' came from Woking .. 'Town Called Malice' was written about the town.

                    We always said the girls from Woking had huge assets, we thought it was something in the water. (I grew up in Surrey not Woking though). But it seemed to make the men violent K...heads.

                    Does seem to have gone even more downhill last time I went there.


                    The villages are where the posh people live in Surrey.
