    Vinyl

    Tomorrow is Record Store Day so support your local indie store and buy some vinyl (or CD), I know I will:

    Home - Record Store Day - UK

    Record Store Day Nederland - Netherlands

    RECORD STORE DAY GERMANY | - Germany
    Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

    Two to choose from nearby;

    — Minstrel Music

    Platenhuis 't oor

    Minstrel's has got more modern indie, platenhuis het oor has more old stuff and is in a more enjoyable town.

    Shall decide after a visit to the barber.

              I have one of these;

              Might build one of these though;

              I like barbecues basic and I can't stand those hopeless gas fuelled cloggy attempts at barbecues. Big green egg's cool though; I remember hanging around outside Lambermon's in Haarlem with the chef chucking oysters on it.

                The egg is brilliant, I've done whole chicken ( which cooks faster and is moister than a conventional oven), pizza, which was fantastic and I'll be smoking some home cured bacon on it this weekend.
                Went out for dinner last night at a local restaurant and the chef's a big fan of the egg as well, in fact its his fault I bought one. He may be cooking at the egg member day and apparently Johnny Boer will be there as well.

                  Well, enjoy it. I've gone right off the star chef types after my last visit to Librije; I just found the whole show irritating. Fresh peas do not need to be turned into blobs of foam, beetroot does not need to be turned into a sticky paste for painting abstract art on the plate. Back to basics for me these days. A good piece of meat, marinaded and grilled over charcoal, or a solid Italian trattoria meal with 5 basic ingredients that the chef has done as little as possible with; that's about right for me.

                  The best thing I ever had from Jonnie Boer was a very straightforward slow cooked neck of lamb at a show. Nothing I ate in his restaurant impressed me as much as that.

                    Haven't been to De Librije yet, but I have been to &samhoud and Places which was fantastic. I had a rather off putting experience at Hof Van Cleve last year.

                    Well if Jonnie Boer is doing meat on the egg then it should be good to try.
