In their wisdom, client co has provided me with shiny new laptop running Linux, will use a virtual thingy to startup a windows session so I can use the useful stuff like office

But the windows session asks for a username and password when starting -thought all this virtualisation m'larky took your existing credentials for the session

FFS if I have to use Office for the docs just give me a windows machine

Feels a bit like dual boot OS/2 has been reprised

Ours not to reason why etc etc -

Oh I really couldn't be arsed with all that. Won't OpenOffice work for you?

Can you hibernate the Windows session once initially logged in?

I use the same setup for my current client, but I just suspend the Windows machine when I'm not using it. On startup, it's already logged in and ready to go.

That's on vmware, so whether something like Citrix works the same I don't know.
