Check twitter rather than look out the window?

BBC News - Huge fire on Leeds industrial estate

Gemma Rathbone, who lives about half a mile from the site of the fire, said she was woken up by loud bangs at about 02:30 BST.

"They kept going so I thought I'd look on Twitter and sure enough it said there was a fire," she said.

"I got up and looked out of the window and I could see all the smoke billowing out into the air. It was really thick black smoke."
"Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.

Leeds covered in black smoke. Looking much better today then.

Or maybe the whole lot will burn. £2.50 worth of damage.

I have never checked twitter. Like most of the internet the signal to noise ratio is too low.

TBH I get most of my news from CUK these days
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I don't have a twitface a/c but the missus swears by it.
And she proved her point in the recent rains when we lost power, the reason was twittered in a few minutes, someone was already on the case to the power company.
        So it has its uses.
Still refuse to get on that bandwagon though.
        Hard Brexit now!

Indeed - it's useful when someone you want help from cares about their image on Twitter
