East coast will hit 200km/h and provides free beer and cider in first class.

Exactly what is the story here.....

I think he got drunk at some office function and they stuck the dullard on the fastest train they could find.

The train arrived on time and cost €67 from Hanover to Munich.

I travelled from London to Durham in under 3 hours, arrived spot on time after being served a 2 course dinner including a passable cheese board, as well as drinks and snacks, all complimentary, for £40.

            So what?

                200km/h = 125 mph

That's the speed that Intercity 125 used to do in 1976. You used to get free food and drinks on those, IIRC.

That's also the same speed that the Virgin Pendolino does, providing free drinks and food in first class.

So, Germany is as good as Virgin Rail seems to be the story here. That takes some doing.

That German trains have a sign that tells you how fast you are going.

                  Impressive.

                    Vote UKIP!
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.
