Went close to knocking out a "DBA"

Just met the most anal and stupid DBA in the world.

Wouldn't change the time out on a Dev server due to it not being best practice despite it aiding us in meeting an important deadline. Was continuously aggressive despite how polite everybody else was.

Got more and more aggressive until the rest of us all walked out f'ing and blinding.

How did a time out on a dev server stop you meeting an important deadline?

I had one change the sa password account on my databases without telling me, not good on a live system that uses some crummy enterprise CMS that demands to use the SA account

The first day he was on holiday I came in to find all the servers down, and sql authentication errors for all the live systems
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

To be fair it's not the bit I am working on. However we are all hammering the dev server to get stuff out in time and it means some reports are taking a little longer to test for results.

When the ten of you get together and stick his head down the toilet, give it a flush from me.

What is wrong with that 5 nanosecond request timeout.

It is best practice, I've spent ages on stack overflow and elsewhere with numerous sockies confirming it as a fact....

I have never been spoken to in such a patronising way as was done by this stupid DBA. In the end we realised that meeting with the guy is just a waste of time.....

I think he did a good job standing his ground and putting you tossers in your place, despite there being ten of you and him being 4' 4" and weighing 6 stone......

No DBA weighs only 6 stone.
