    You're a contractor

    you know technically what the client is choosing to do shall inherently lead to problems later in the project causing uproar, frustration and cost.

    You don't see the problem and make a tulip load of money while it all goes wrong

    Not quite. You should offer an opinion of why its a stupid idea knowing that it will be ignored. Then implement exactly what they asked for before watching the entertainment as it dawns on them you were right in the first place.

      Absolutely. In such circumstances I make a list of assumptions in said report so it's there in black and white for everyone in the future to go Doh!

                I only give them what's needed at that moment, they don't appreciate/understand if you give it to them before.
