    Europe Gas Shortage?

Europe faces gas shortage as Russia cuts Ukraine supply after talks fail - Telegraph

Can't we use the hot air that comes out of Brussels?

Why do we do deals with unstable regimes?

      You mean Scotland?

Time to get on with fracking so at least the UK has its own gas supply.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

The "dash to gas " of the early 90's by the newly privatised electric companies caused a lot of today's issues

If we had a joined up government energy policy it may have stopped or at least slowed the crazy use of a finite resource i.e. natural gas to be burnt to generate electricity
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

          Just tap into CUK General...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

But gas replaced coal, which is finite and comes from Russia.

What's your preferred way of generating electricity?

There is absolutely loads of gas. North Sea, Middle East, Russia.

Never mind the stuff you can get from fracking - which has put the US on a course from being an importer to being an exporter of energy ( the "Peak Oil" crowd didn't see that coming! )

We might see some short-term supply spikes caused by political events, but long term gas should be a reasonably secure choice.

                  +1000

A few coal fired power stations as they are quick to put up. Meanwhile design nuclear power stations in the UK (stuff the Frogs).

And no petrol cars in the UK from 2030. Go all electric. Then the Iraqis and the rest of the middle-east nutters can be left to kill each other in peace.
