:(

To qualify, I am shocked that he did it, not that he got caught.

Yep, my :( was that he did it. I loved him as a kid and was up on stage with him when I was little, and my son was his gardener for a bit, so it feels a bit closer to home.

I think it was kinda obvious which way it would go as soon as the letter came to light. Still shocking though.

apparently everyone knew in the business.

they should all be ashamed.

I was horrified that he was that way inclined, I always assumed he was a good un.

Cliff next?

2 max, wrong as it is, it was not on the scale of Hall but having said that he has protested his innocence all the way through so it might be 4.

I didn't see that it was common knowledge at the time and yes not only should they be ashamed, those that claim to have known should be in the dock alongside him, same as all the people who claim they saw Savile up to his tricks. If they saw it at the time, they are responsible for it not being stopped.

No mention of the "making indecent images" - what happened to that charge?

Much of [the evidence] was too graphic for the mainstream media to report. Inevitably, it will have left the public with a misleading impression of the seriousness of the charges.

The allegations were not simply a case of over-familiarity of the kind said to be have been prevalent in another age. One of those involved was aged just seven or eight at the time.

Could turn out to be a long stretch if that's the case :frown

They decided that, compared to the output of Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, they weren't that bad :D

Rolf Harris is found guilty of 12 counts of indecent assault on four girls between 1968 and 1986FWIW

I wonder why he didn't hop off back to Australia when the investigations started. And hide in the bush.

Another childhood hero proved to be total scum - alongside Gary Glitter. I hope all his money goes to the victims.

At least I always despised Savile.
