Not 10,000 but it's not that big a town either. Has migration had a detrimental effect to the town in a short time - most definitely.

Those are EU migrants most of which we could have kept out according to EU rules by requiring them to have private health insurance.
I thought we were talking about refugees.
I can see that having 10000 refugees landing on a Greek island could cause severe problems, yes.
And yet what is the root cause of those migrant flows? Western military intervention. Removing dictators who could keep a lid on things.
      Hard Brexit now!

So what is this huge negative impact on Oldham, because you can pick up a flat for about 60 grand ?

Before migration Oldham was a total sh*t hole, at least now you can get some decent service in a cafe, and they now have better qualified medical staff.

        I'm alright Jack

Yep, removing the iron hand in the velvet glove doesn't appear to work very well.

            Winston Churchill liked it.

You might be interested in this - we should have left Saddam in power and encouraged him to keep fighting Iran, like they did in the 80s thus wearing both of them out:

              | Time

Ex officers of the Iraq army were/are the leaders of ISIS in Syria and wheerver else they are causing chaos in the word.

That wouldn't have made the Septics very happy, not in the short term.

We should've sorted the Turks in the aftermath of 1991 - There's serious trouble on the way from that neck of the woods in the coming years.

“10k in three months wilt fook all except the clothes on their back” was the question.

Oldham’s 2011 census (yes, I know it’s old) shows out of a population of 174k the non-U.K. born population (~50k) was vastly Pakistani and Bangladeshi (~40k), not EU.

                  https://www.oldham.gov.uk/download/d...statistics.pdf

Aren’t we already in control of non=EU immigration?

Look at the figures from 2016 detailing the number of NI registrations - presented nicely in an article taken from the Chronic Oldham Website. OLDHAM

Labour have not sold out this town they have given it away and sold out the people who were never consulted on their plans. Labour learned nothing from losing the general election, nothing from the housing shortage, nothing from the Oldham riots and nothing from their inaction on benefits and spending which gave the Conservative’s a mandate for austerity.

More than 80 first languages now spoken in Oldham is it any wonder schools are failing when teachers are expected to school the world.

Except that isn't the Oldham Evening Chronicle like you suggested, but "Chronic Oldham" a website that claims to "deliver without political affiliation", but based on the balance of its articles it looks like it is sponsored by EDL/BNP/BF/UKIP

Edit: it's run by a guy called Damon Ashworth.
