    Default Managing Complex Chnage

The Managing Complex Change Model model created by Dr Mary Lippitt (1987) I think shows quite well what is currently wrong with the Brexit process.

    Vision + Skills + Incentives + Resources + Action Plan = Change
Skills + Incentives + Resources + Action Plan = Confusion
Vision + Incentives + Resources + Action Plan = Anxiety
Vision + Skills + Incentives + Resources = False Starts
Vision + Skills + Incentives + Action Plan = Frustration
Vision + Skills + Incentives + Resources = False Starts

    We were here

Vision + Skills + Incentives + Resources = False Starts

for a long time but now that Parliament in trying to wrestle control from the government we are now here

Vision + Skills + Incentives + Resources = False Starts - lacking incentive

No deal problem relates to this

Skills + Incentives + Resources + Action Plan = Confusion

as there is a lack of vision as to what no deal really looks like

Question is how do we get to the top.

    Vision + Skills + Incentives + Resources + Action Plan = Change

Simple Parliament need to stop acting like school children as do as HM has said.

Tell us about how that Vision matches what was proposed by the Leave campaign pre-Referendum, and how the Skills of the Brexit-supporting politicians has managed to put that Vision into a detailed written plan.

The vision was to leave the EU

The skills are those of the politicans, on both sides, that have provided us with the Brexit deal that is currently before parliament.

You are massively over thinking this

Private Eye reported that McKinsey were brought in. They came up with some of the theories that have been suggested here and there - like falling back on WTO terms. Unfortunately, while very highly paid, they knew SFA about international trade, and many of their suggestions are entirely impractical.

Ok maybe I made a poor choice of words.

The vision was A Britain free from the oppressive shackles of the EU. The EU oppressive trading restrictions that restrict Britain from forming its own trading relations with its colonies.

I would contend that you are massively over-simplifying it. Brexiters don't do details, which is why we are in this mess.

An "Action Plan" is not to stop doing something, but to start doing something. An Incentive is a tangible positive benefit from doing something (again, it's not about stopping, but about starting)

How "we" get to the top is to revisit the Vision. What exactly is it?
The Skills. Who is capable of delivering it and what knowledge do they need?
The Incentives. Why should people want to be involved?
The Resources. Who is going to do the design, who is going to do the delivery, who is going to test, who is going to take responsibility, what other resources are required, etc?
The Action Plan. What is the detailed plan of action to deliver the Vision?

To implement Brexit properly you have to destroy the economy first and rebuild a new one. The new rebuilt economy will be sh*ttier than the old destroyed one.

    This is the problem.

Imagine a project where you replace a modern cloud solution with a 1960's IBM mainframe and you have to sit in meetings to agree what you functions you throw out.

That is basically where we're at.

    I'm alright Jack
