Sending a gun boat did the UK so much good in the cod war. USA told the UK to back off as Iceland threatened to seek closer ties with Russia. And of course the UK government said "of course".
I think the easiest solution is o hand NI over to Ireland.Comment

At present, Northern Ireland vessels are banned from fishing inside the Republic of Ireland's six-mile limit.
But the Republic's fleet has not been excluded from Northern Ireland waters.His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...Comment
