Hitler built the autobahns in Germany partially to speed up the movement of troops, but paradoxically, because Germany relied on petroleum fuels not readily available on German soil, autobahns were less effective than they might have been later in WW2. On the other hand, the UK relied on steam on the railways for movement, and coal was readily available. So I guess you could say it's better to depend on as many of your natural resources as possible, in order to be successful.Comment
