No, you have been lead to believe that through your unflinching faith in the Daily Mail.

The rest of us actually have a working understanding of how things work in the real world. She will "invite" the leader of the party with a majority to govern regardless of political persuasion.

How long before the Judges are ruled in the popular press enemies of the people (again), democratically elected MP's are branded enemies of the people (again) and Boris decides the law does not apply to him with regards to the no deal extension. He may as well go the whole hog and shut parliament down ... oh....

Will Yellow Hammer form the basis of the emergency that allows Boris to enable the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 which gives him the power to amend all primary legislation except the Human Rights Act and also trigger a General Election? What would be interesting is if the Queen tells Boris to FO and does not pass the Order in Council and therefore the emergency legislation.

She is actually very good at separating her personal views from her 'job'. Maybe she'd make a good Speaker.

So how many months or years will this drag on for - presumably absolutely no chance of it affecting Brexit or the next 5 weeks? And what could the end result be? Is it like when they find someone guilty of improper conduct during an election (or the Brexit campaign) and it's all a bit pointless?

I don't read the Mail and I only watch BBC news, just to see how biased the BBC is.

the Queen tells Boris to FO
some commentators here claim she doesn't have the power to do this.

Probably win a prize on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire with that answer:

Spiked hates leftwing politics. It inveighs against the welfare state, against regulation, the Occupy movement, anti-capitalists, Jeremy Corbyn, George Soros, #MeToo, 'black privilege' and Black Lives Matter. Its articles repeatedly defend figures on the hard right or far right: Katie Hopkins, Nigel Farage, Alex Jones, the Democratic Football Lads’ Alliance, Tommy Robinson, Toby Young, Arron Banks, Viktor Orbán.

It has taken an extreme libertarian view, opposing:

                - gun control
                - restrictions on tobacco and tobacco advertising
                - taxes on sugar and other legislation to promote healthy eating
                - all corporate regulation generally
                - bans on child pornography
                - legislation on hate speech and anything else that restricts freedom of speech even of the most unpleasant and hateful people
                - The #MeToo movement, which it claims is misogynistic
                - The European Union

                Members include:

Claire Fox: a teacher, RCP member, LM contributor, founder of the Institute of Ideas, and a panellist on BBC Radio 4's Moral Maze. She has defended the right to download child porn and the lyrics of reggae artist Beanie Man, which call for the murder of gay people. Stood as a candidate for Nigel Farage's Brexit Party in 2019, being elected to the European Parliament.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.
