Too right. Better half is a leftie and is now politically homeless. She's a member of Labour but couldn't possibly vote for this antisemitic Labour scumshow or, indeed, Lib Dem tuition fee raising scum. You won't see many academics voting Lib Dem, ever. And voting Green, well.

You also need to look at the voting records of the current crop of Lib Dems (*), you might just as well call them 'Orange Tories' especially as it now seems the party that disaffected Tories are jumping to. I would be be very wary until they actually put it down in writing on their official election pledges that they will revoke Brexit. Now the Greens or SNP, we already know that they're against Brexit...

(*) Jo Swinson has a particularly awful voring record, she consistently voted to reduce welfare and benefits, including cutting payments for people with illnesses or disabilities. She also voted to cut the Educational Maintenance Allowance for 16-to-19-year-olds. And she helped to raise university tuition fees, despite promising not to as one of the key policies that helped elect many Lib Dem MPs in 2010. Her track record on environmental issues, meanwhile, shows she supported the badger cull, fracking and HS2.
Apparently that's what they are doing - putting revoking Article 50 in their manifesto. As for broken promises Boris promised £350m/week to the NHS and what not, yet people are not too phased and will keep voting Tory. Labour stance and promises on Brexit are changing on a weekly basis.

Bottom line is if you are remainer outside of Scotland your only sensible choice is Lib-Dem, the least of all evils. Any government policy can be backtracked come next elections. Brexit can't realistically be rolled back.

In fairness it's a good move by them, they have long established themselves as the remain party.

I think they will pull more votes away from Labour/Conservatives than the Brexit Party will, maybe enough to get them into a coalition

Like Labour and the Tories did in 2017, promising in their election pledges to honour the referendum result? e.g. (as I'm sure you remember) "No deal is better than a bad deal" ?

Remainers still bleat that the referendum was advisory (wasn't there a thread about this on here recently?) and that election pledges shouldn't be honoured, so why trust the LD's?

I think they'll get a few more seats and then support a minority Labour government in coalition. That'll be interesting when it comes to the socialist policies being advanced by John McDonnell and Comrade K's apparent Eurosceptic tendencies

            Fun times

Update: LDs say they won't prop up a Corbyn government.

Lib Dems were consistent on the matter and it’s in their interest to continue to do so - this is a very rare case when political party’s self interest is aligned with voters.

Vote to cancel brexit after it's already been delivered by the 31st October? i.e. before the GE.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.
