It's proof that you're a colossal cockwit, and if you'd heard any Euro-pop recently you'd be screaming to have no part of any of it.
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

The UK is in Europe, pop music is the short term for popular music hence Europ-pop would cover pretty much everything since the early 50's so unless you just listen to Radio 3 or Talk Radio, then you've heard some recently or are you proving to us that you're actually a huge spunk trumpet and a jizz dribbling cockwomble.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Sorry to piss on your chips but Euro Pop is a by definition

        Europop
        noun
        noun: Euro-pop
pop music from continental Europe with simple melodies and lyrics, often sung in English.

It is a sub genre of music and it implies it is tulip - think S Club 7 sung in English by a Bulgarian accompanied by a guy on a bontempi organ and a drum machine.

Yeah. My parents used to argue this too. Yes. Back in the 50s and 60s it was all just pop music. Now the meaning has drifted to indicate a particular type of music that's popular. Get with the kids, daddio.

Would the honorable gentleperson be referring in some way to the advent of the new electrically amplified guitar based beat combo?

              Oh dear...

The first major Europop hit is generally considered Los Bravos’ “Black Is Black,” a million-seller in 1966. Los Bravos was a Spanish group with a German lead singer and a British producer.
Other early successes in the genre were Middle of the Road’s “Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep,” which sold 10 million copies in 1971, and Chicory Tip’s 1972 hit, “Son of My Father,” the English-language version of a German-Italian song originally recorded by one of its writers, Giorgio Moroder.
The most influential Europop acts of the 1970s, though, had a broader appeal. Boney M, a foursome from the Caribbean (via Britain and the Netherlands) brought together by German producer Frank Farian
The most successful British pop production team of the 1980s—Mike Stock, Matt Aitken, and Pete Waterman—was clearly influenced by this pop genre and by the promotion processes that supported it.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Roxette and Ace of Base led Europop in American and British mainstream audiences. In the 1990s, pop groups like the Spice Girls, Aqua, Steps, Backstreet Boys and singer DJ BoBo were strongly influenced by Europop. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Italian dance group Eiffel 65 were highly active in this genre. In the 2000s, one of the most popular representatives of Europop music was Swedish pop group Alcazar.
