They tend to select people for this vindictive humour who are either lower in intellectual ability or who have made less than ideal life choices, .

Is it your argument that everyone's opinion is equal? Or are some people's ideas (or life choices), objectively inferior to others? Perhaps we should abolish exams, interviews and any "selective" judgements at all - everyone's a winner, everyone should get As at A-level, automatic degrees and a fancy job title.

Or is your argument that we should be kinder to those inferior to us?
