    Boris can't avoid the Benn Act. All he can do is to create FUD (hence this thread), which means doing everything lawful to circumvent it, while implying that he might even do some unlawful things too. "Oh, noes!".

    You'd need to be pretty stupid to fall for this.

    If the moderate remainers in Parliament had any sense, they'd push through the WA as it exists today, with a referendum attached and then have a GE. Perhaps even delay the GE until after the second ref, but that probably isn't achievable (would need 6 months, plus chaos in the interim). That is the absolute worst case scenario for Boris in the ensuing GE.

      He's already tried the unlawful route, he'd try again if he thinks he might get away with it.
