This is yet again completely missing the fact that there are 2 sides to each border. Just because the UK is happy to out source emigration checks to Landlords and employers and wave through commercial traffic (taking back control of our borders), doesn't mean the EU will be happy to do the same...

and as far as I can tell the only major issue is the GFA - it is not to do with the actual problems of implementation a border more what some people think a border represents.
No biggie then, the UK just need to provide a Brexit plan that respect the GFA

Would that be the agreement that brought the end to The Troubles, allowing people with opposing political views to live together in peace.
Yeah, let’s scrap that, it won’t create tension or cause any problems...
Which was fine 21 years ago when we were all part of the same political union.

But now we are leaving that political union and so the ROI is in the EU and the UK and therefore NI is not - which means there needs to be some form of control between the two different political unions.

Umm and peace... The cruel peace: killings in Northern Ireland since the Good Friday Agreement

        You’re right, I didn’t make that clear.

ROI will still have freedom of movement for both U.K. and EU nationals. Non-EU nationals that want to use the U.K. as a back door into Ireland are de minimus and can easily follow that reverse route now if they want.

Commercial traffic is a different story, hence this thread I guess...

          Control? Interesting choice of word.

How about some sort of agreement, where the people who want to make the change come up with proposals for an agreement that allows things to move forward.
It’s only taken 3 years and those that want to leave haven’t proposed anything that they can even agree with themselves, never mind with the rest of the UK or the ROI or the EU.

As the article oPM referred to says, this is extraordinarily difficult without dropping some of May's red lines.
Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.

An interesting article. During The Troubles, it was about 100 people per yer were being killed. For the last 20 years it’s been about 5 people per year.

So the Belfast Agreement may not have brought about 100% peace, but 95% is better than 0%, isn’t it?

Exactly and those are not May's red lines, they are not the 17m+ leave voters red lines, they are ERG's red lines.

So why the F are they still haunting us?

                Easiest deal, right...

Interesting indeed... but one would have thought that 99% of its content was/should be common knowledge!

But happy you find interesting an article that basically explains how Brexit is such a bad idea! It's a start...
