Of course they are, it undermines the Union and keeps strong ties with the Republic. The fact that the DUP are pissed about it is just a bonus.

All the more surprising then that Labour can't support the deal.

Yes, agreed, but then you are SO much cleverer than the rest of us. It must be so frustrating to be cleverer and richer and happier than everyone else

So, what are the differences between Boris’ wonderful deal and the terrible May deal that he resigned over?
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

From what I gather - May's deal kept the entire UK in the CU&SM until a solution to the Irish border can be found. While Boris's deal removes GB from the CU/SM, throwing NI "to the wolves" as a solution to the Irish border

I suspect this wasn't proposed earlier, because its blindingly obvious the DUP who were propping up the government would be against it.

That's an easy one, no? If the deal passes Boris will sell himself as the saviour that made the impossible and agreed on a deal (although before referendum this was the easiest deal ever) and delivered Brexit by 31st of October as promised!

How do you think this would work on a GE for Labour?

Or even less likely to get passed on parliament, so not sure how is expected that the new deal will have a different faith than May's deal...
