Perhaps you should have returned to the utopia of Holland before the shutters came down, save yourself from all the grief?

I hear they've declared war on COVID-19 and decided that the best way to win that war is to stay at home.

Someone must have dusted down some templates from 1939!!

The EU is itself at a crossroads. Germany will have to underwrite the catastrophic economic consequences of Covid19 in Italy and Spain. It will be the German electorate who will decide whether to allow 'debt mutualisation' to happen.

Angela Merkel recently gave a rare television address to the nation. You can read the English translation of her speech here:

However, if you were hoping to see the word 'Europe' anywhere within, I'll have to disappoint you now. It isn't mentioned. We may be about to find out whether the next Chancellor cares more about their career, or the very future of the Eurozone. If Germany puts itself first in the next few years, there will be no future for the EU. German voters will decide, either way.

              1. The name of the country is The Netherlands
              2. There was no template in 1939 as the Netherlands was neutral
              3. The German invasion was in 1940
              4. Travel between The Netherlands and the UK is still possible with flights and ferries going between them

                They're one and the same.

You brexiteers continually suffer from this paranoid delusion that the EU is some separate, evil empire that acts against our interests. In fact it is a highly advantageous club that is simply the sum of all the members working together. If you want to succeed, then you had better make the best of golden opportunities like the EU. They don't come around very often. As far as the UK is concerned, we will never see something as good again.

So in ten years time Remainers will blaming the economic collapse on Brexit, and Brexiters will be blaming it on Covid-19.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!
