That is actually a British journalist, not an American, a firm Brexiteer who likes to write books about Winston Churchill, the type that likes to stand to attention whilst listening to Rule Britannia and most controversially would like to see the return of African Colonial Rule.

        Andrew Roberts (historian) - Wikipedia

A weird guy who is definitely lobbying for the British Empire 2.0.
        I'm alright Jack

It's sixth form fantasy debate stuff that gives a certain type of person a warm fuzzy feeling. There's no serious plan with serious backers, and certainly nothing "over baked" to pick up the economic fallout at the end of the Brexit transition period.

As these types love a good WW2 analogy, it's like elements of the German leadership in early 1945 hoping to join the Western Allies against the USSR.

And that's bad because? Isn't society all about 'me' now? I'm just getting down with the kids (but not in a Rolf Harris kind of way!)

Here you go, more on CANZUK (why not ZUKCAN and why only one N)....still: A Ripper Deal: The case for free trade and movement between Australia and the United Kingdom — Adam Smith Institute

Basically more Earls Court bar staff:

The deal should also include generous provisions to allow Australian and UK citizens to live and work in both countries. This would help revive the tradition of Australians spending a few years in the UK during their 20s – this was once a rite-of-passage, but numbers have plummeted by 73 per cent since 2001.
BTW, this was written by James Paterson so it is not biased:

He was also the onlyfederal politician in Australia to publicly support Brexit prior to the2016 referendum
                Sorry, it is...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Free movement of UK citizens to live and work in Australia; the Australians will never allow that. It will be a one-way street of Australians into the UK.
