Perhaps if they'd concentrated on the positives of Europe rather than explain why Boris and Nigel were the equivalent of east end barrow boys with a bus, they'd have fared better. I also think that they massively underestimated the north-south divide.

Yeah, like logical arguments would have worked for people who explicitly reject logic because they don’t like the conclusions.

It’s not one off - same group that voted Brexit also generally supports Trump, anti-vaxxers etc - there is consistent pattern that can be distilled down to “idiotism” - it’s not even lack of education, people are rejecting obvious facts and evidence in favour of alternative reality offered by cynical liars like Boris and Farage
