The UK's New Open Door Immigration Policy

It appears that immigration to the UK will be easier after 1st January.

Visa applications will be on line and all that is needed is , to be proficient in English, and earn at least £25,600.
There will be no limit on the number of visas issued.

So the local takeaway can offer a job as chef at £25,600, deduct costs of accommodation, flights etc and that's it.

Nope - chefs need to earn £29,570 per year after deductions for accommodation, meals

IT people however are completely fair game.

But it's nice to see a poster going for the typical approach of not doing any research and posting tulip and then demonstrating their stupidity as they go against a poster known to only argue when they have actual facts to hand.

Even if they needed the economic boost they should have made these really low paying jobs temp visas with no immigration pathway. Do you really need to permanently bring in more unskilled low paid workers into one of the worlds most densely populated countries. Whoever thought this was a good idea should be charged with treason.

If they come here, get into a long-term relationship and get married to a British citizen (or one with the right to remain) who is earning enough, then then they have a pathway to stay in the UK.

You're right but it's splitting hairs. The base rate is so low it won't stop anything.

None of the adverts Paddy used against my first comment meet the criteria set out for chefs - which was the point.

As for the other posts - you need to add value or else you can be cheaply replaced.
