    Manufacturers hit by Brexit

Not only musicians are affected by Brexit.

Anger builds among manufacturers as EU customers cancel orders due to Brexit red tape

    They're not happy.

It's just one cluster**** after another...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I reckon most businesses that were getting things from the UK will now be looking at alternatives somewhere in the EU simply to avoid the hassle. They will probably carry on with the UK if its absolutely necessary and they can't find suitable replacements elsewhere, but I'd be willing to bet £5 and say it's not going to be a big percentage of companies.

The UK is now either the same or even worse than US when it comes to buying stuff from (at least importing items from the US has clear rules, not so much for the UK at least now). Typically you'd be looking hard to find the same item somewhere closer, preferably EU, before pulling the trigger and getting it from the States due to added taxes, extra charges and the time it takes for it to arrive.

Where are all the Brexiteers who normally just jump on with 'No one cares about fishing/farming/exporting/Northern Ireland, it is unimportant to the new Global Britain economy' ?

They must be running out of things to not give a tulip about

Buying same stuff inside EU from anywhere but Britain got massive advantage in that chances are good you won’t be charged VAT because sellers are likely be less scrupulous about being compliant with EU tax laws, plus they can reduce real cost of package on postage to reduce VAT/tariffs, a scummy tactic honest British sellers are just not used to

Nope as usual you sad remoaners are making it up.

Up to 200 lorries a day turned back from EU crossings

Up to 200 lorries a day are being turned back from UK crossings into the EU because they lack the proper paperwork, officials have said.
Emma Churchill, the head of the border and protocol delivery group at the Cabinet Office, said between 3% and 8% of HGVs, 100 to 200 vehicles a day, were getting turned away at the ports.
Sounds terrifying out of about 2000 lorries 200 were refused. Brexit must be terrible we all should offer to sleep with Ursula or Barnier!

But of course its a bit more complicated than that.

She said that in around half the cases it was because the drivers did not have a negative coronavirus test following the introduction of new controls by the French at the end of last year.
so that is only 50->100 lorries actually being refused for other reasons, 1.5 - 5% failure rate on a new system of customs is not bad.

                    oh and :

She said that traffic was “completely free-flowing” at the Channel ports with most drivers arriving with the correct documentation.“That is because the general level of trader readiness has been higher than either we feared or anticipated,” she said.
This would be why they are asking drivers to present their negative Corona virus tests before they enter Kent so the stupid ones don't get in the way.

So no actually "Hmm" means that you remoaners seem to be a bunch bed-wetters who miss being controlled by the EU.
