The counter side of that is that they can also bin you in a week but it's better to have money coming in then not so take it and keep looking,

Agreed. It's a permanent state of interviewing for the foreseeable future...

Even when job vacancies increase and unemployment decreases, it doesn't mean they are good jobs. Governments often focus on unemployment figures, but never the quality of jobs.

No wonder your business went bankrupt when you don't understand the difference between own and bust.

But as a hint, when a business goes bust the assets are taken so were that to have happened cfl family wouldn't still own it

OK as BR14 has pointed out this is willy waving & I am stepping out.

For everyone else please do not head down to Malaga expecting employment of any kind or a contract without really doing your homework.

I don't know why not, there's loads of work there. The place is booming.

Sounds like they are wary of contractors quitting ASAP for some strange reason.

If you saw the follow up - it was a misunderstanding of sira's contract (as there hadn't been time to read it completely) but it wouldn't surprise me if Barclays (say) tried to use one sided probation periods - heck for years they had contracts with no notice periods on the contractor side of things.
