    Hireright screening

    Have been asked to go through a Hireright screening via clientco. Am not comfortable going through this process as it is asking for info about previous "employments" and gaps in my work history.

    What's the view from the folks on here? Do I go through it or not?
    If your company is the best place to work in, for a mere £500 p/d, you can advertise here.

    I say go through it. Since you're thinking of declining anyway I would be honest about any gaps 'unable to find a contract at this time/went travelling' and see what happens.

      My main concerns is that the clientco wants other client contact details as part of a reference checks. I thought agencies do reference checks?

        Nope not necessarily.

        Since about 2010 I've had various clients do their own reference, ID and credit checks.

          I love these. 10 years with my Ltd. No gaps. Give my name as contact and see what happens. Never been called once yet

            Went through the HireRite process Feb-May. Completely incompetent morons. The hiring manager was going bonkers at HR. HR went bonkers at HireRite. Hirerite could not work out what was going on.

            <sigh>

              I have been tempted to do this. To be honest, if they reject it, I will tell them to show me the door.

                Credit checks I get, especially in the financial world. Reference checks for SC clearance I get. But the client has allegedly been given my references from one of my clients via the agency.

                  You really don't understand this do you?

                  After my hirerite onboarding marathon, I was asked to consider a permanent position. I was told ALL the same checks would have to be repeated.

                  How much do you want the gig? If you are desperate, bend over and lube up.

                    I have offered to walk away from this gig. So I am not desperate.
