    Better rate or better gig?

    Similar duration (approx 3 months)

Gig 1 - high stress, complex project, lots of headache, higher day rate
Gig 2 - lower stress, complex project, great brand name/well known company, £75 less in day rate

    Which would you go for?

    Thanks guys

I will tend to pick interesting over rate as long as the bills are paid.

Stressful environments are ok short term but if it's stressful because of crap management processes and support then you'll be pissed off and grumpy in no time.

Better question is which one are you going to go for?

If you are fretting over the decision then take the easy one.

Both are local as I'm London based. WFH may be possible with Gig 1 but one day per week. Gig 2 not an option but there are other perks.

I reached out to Gig 2 client to ask if there could be any flexibility in terms of increasing their rate and mentioned that Gig 1 is offering a higher rate... I'll see what happens as I totally prefer Gig 2.

Perhaps I should mention both gigs are ex clients so worked for both previously. They just both want me back at the same time!

            Thanks guys for your input!

Tarby works twice as hard as the rest of us.

Okie so Gig 2 client messaged me to say they don't think they can increase rate at this time as they are cutting away at contractors budget, which I totally believe since they have had a massive wave of permie redundancies recently. They really only have about 1.5 contractors in the entire department so very much perm reliant company.
