    2. 8 July 2019The Digital Outcomes and Specialists 4 framework is now open for applications until 5pm on 15 August 2019.

That closure date is why I'm not on DOS4 when I was on the previous ones I was firefighting a project in Sofia when it closed.
Stop spoon feeding the poster. If he can't work out how to get on the framework from following a link and reading then there is no hope for them.

Going back to OP it can be done, but you need to be very slick in how you respond, it’s an art that take a bit of practice to get right.

Are you on DOS4 already? If not you’ve got to wait for the next frame work to be launched
      Hi Si,

Yes, I'm on it I applied for that role, didn't get it, did get some feedback (which gave a some pointers) and then for some reason got another email for DOS about this role out of the blue (even though it closed ages ago).

I've normally avoided public sector roles because I thought I wouldn't fit culturally and it would be a harder sell for the next private sector role but these are paying more than private sector and with an outside IR35 status I'm very keen to learn the art!

Once you get “in” with the PS it’s a very good stream of contracts. One client I worked with was (then) a small start up consultancy where a couple of contractors banded together and through a bit of luck, a bit of networking and a big of graft have now build them self up to be about 50 permies in three years. I helped them out with bids while I was there, pretending to be helpful but I wanted to learn the process.

It’s very much a case of word for word making sure you tick every box to get shortlisted, and then you need an solid “elevator pitch” when you actually get in front of them.

Keep a spreadsheet of all your bids, and all the feedback (I’ve found the feedback to be very open and honest, not like the generic feedback from a pimp), track the evidence and examples that work well and reuse them where possible

Thanks mate much appreciated. Are you still in Whinmoor(?) or did you manage to sell the place? Be good once this covid-19 nonsense has finished and we have a social.

I don’t know if I’m drunk or something....

            Gcloud 12 closed on 20th July 2020.
This other one closed a year previously (I didn’t read much as it’s gone)...

I’ve applied for gcloud 12(fingers crossed on that)...

What’s the relevance of this other one??

            I am drunk FWITM.

That was sold a while ago, I moved to "the place nearish to you" and rented that out for a bit

Just not true, almost all DMP awards got to the big 10 players (Big 4 plus TCS, G4S, Detica etc...)

An independent without lots of training in how to write DMP bids will almost certainly never get shortlisted, and as others have said the 6-10 week award cycle means if you are any good you'll have found someting else (many times over) in the wait period

I can already tell you the outcome, anyone who completes the process gets added to the framework, which makes it pretty useless as a portal. There are about 30 providers that 90% of the work goes to, another 70 or so that the rest goes to and the remaining 4000+ "qualified framework participaents" never even get a sniff

GCloud is not intended for single person work products (the costs on the client side are too high for that) the Digital Specialists programme is designed for that

They'll have another clear out like they did around GC6 or 7 and got rid of all the one man band applications.

I'll be 90% of people either thinking of applying or are already on the framework have no idea of the hoops they have to jump through to get work. In many cases you'll have to go in and give a presentation which will be scored as has already been demonstrated. You'll be up against consultancies who'll bring a few people in and do a proper speil. You turn up on your own with half a presentation expecting an interview style meeting you'll be very embarrased. Not that you'll get that far.

People make out it's the holy grail and you've got to be on these portals but the reality is vastly different.
