Tbh, some contractors aren't much better. This popped up on my timeline...

"APPRECIATION OF HEADHUNTERS, RECRUITERS AND RECRUITMENT AGENCIES

A few months ago I commented about appreciating recruiters.

They don't always get a good name and quite often are blamed for anything that goes wrong with the recruitment process even if it is not their fault.

That appreciation and support is even more important now as they have a central role to play in the recovery of the economy.

So to the recruiters out there. Thank you for helping me in the past and for your help now and in the future."

There you go folks, without recruiters the economy will tank...

"BEING A RECRUITER IS THE HARDEST JOB IN THE WORLD.

          No, seriously. Because

          Unlike any other sales job,

you’re selling something that can decide not to be sold.

Or sell themselves to someone else.

          And clients aren’t much easier.

          Recruitment is a tough gig.

Even tougher when you throw in a global pandemic.

So, recruiters – here’s to you.

          Here’s to the XXX’s

          The YYY’s and ZZZ’s

          AAA’ and BBB’s

          And the CCC’s

          Here’s to the graft.

          The grit.

The sheer ‘whatever It takes’ to make it through.

Because what do recruiters do when all the jobs have gone?

They damn well create them. ??"

Nah, they will pester you anyway if your profile fits.
If you want work off linkedin from internal HR recruiters its simple. Fill your profile with buzzwords that HR people love and that everyone else hates. You know, like "team player", "picking the low hanging fruit", "creating synergies" is also a good one.
You have to appeal to people that have all the charisma of a dyspraxic donkey

              Jobserve (jobswerve)
              Jobsite
              CWJObs
              TotalJobs
              Technojobs
              CV Library
Indeed (the worst of the worst)

Has anyone actually got a contract vie these sites? I don't think I've had an interview (let alone a contract) from them for about 7 years.
All my contracts have come via previous contact, and a couple of interviews from LI

They seem to be full of garbage and fake jobs, or send you into an infinite loop of portals asking you to register so your organs can be harvested .

Posting your CV on the portals above you may as well apply for the job of Shakira's chief buttock massager - the result will be the same

Yeah, at £400 a day... I couldn't afford to keep paying her to do the job.

Out of all the sites mentioned, Jobserve was easily the best for me. I got three gigs there between 2013 and 2017. Since then, all my gigs have been direct from agents or contacts.

I personally don't use any of those sites any more, partly as most of the more senior roles I've been interested in during the last 18 months are never advertised.
