I tried to look for an answer, just a question - how much you guys would charge for the cyber security role in Zurich or Geneva? Should it be <1200 CHF? I am about to negoatiate the rate and would love some advice....![]()

It depends.....
What's the role? (cyber security is pretty meaningless really) CISO would expect quite a bit more, a junior analyst would be less.
What are you worth? How good are you? What role do you normally do?
Given that you think that this question is worth asking, in the way you have asked, I'd say 1200CHF is generous. You're welcome.

per hour/day/week????
Entropy is NOT what it used to be.
Inertia, however........................
CHF1200/week is swiss dole money for a higher earner.
like you said, seniority/size of systems, etc all play a part.

You guys ripped me apart...Its senior role, I did not want to give many details just in case recruiter is reading this forum - thats the reason it is written like that, job will be for one of the Pharma company and it will involve all range of activities (not management/ciso) but more like technical person - I would say closely Security Engineer would be the best. Day rate I had in mind and I was personally thinking about is 1500 at least.... Destroy my dreams if you will but is that rate for senior security operations engineer that will be involved in system patching etc activities - is it too high?
In today's market, per day
800 is bog standard
1200 is approaching premium.
Through a mainstream agency, you're unlikely to get more than that. Outside that, maybe a little more. If you already knows the client and they like you, 2000 wouldn't be out of the question.
Try for 1500 by all means. But I know specialist security consultancies here that don't charge much more. Also pharma.
I do work in pharma. And in security.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

For a patching engineer I think 1500 is wishful. But god loves a trier.
Have you thought about asking them for an offer based on your experience?
At least that way you know the bottom price so don’t need to embarrass yourself.
