    The whole point of Internet / ARPANet was that you can not disable it by dropping a few nukes here and there.
    There's some critical piecies of infra like root DNS servers, but there's many of them across the world, so Internet as a whole can surivive partial outages.

            my understanding is that valves are not affected by radiation, whereas transistors etc are. So using valves wasn't exactly about using old technology because they didn't have more modern technology.
