A couple of years ago I was looking for a low consumption (c 100W) vacuum cleaner for a boat (had to run of the 12v batteries upped to 240v via an inverter, so 1000w takes roughly 80 amps which is a hell of a wallop), and Euro loonies or not, I was gobsmacked to see that the average was 2000W, I think this is just willy-waving by the manufacturers, as others have said you don't need that much power to create a little breeze that picks up dust!Comment
