I was in two minds about Capaldi; he's a fine actor but was he right for this role? On balance I think yes, but he was crippled by a God-awful script. Send Moffat back to writing school and leave it to the experts in future.
    Blog? What blog...?

I sincerely hope that an actor as mature as Capaldi will have the balls to say "no no no, this is silly" and not just "do" the script in the childish way that it's written

I only seen the first 20 minutes but it all seemed pretty terrible.

First 20 were poor, but then it was sex, violence and drugs for the next hour. You turned over to soon.

Was expecting a lot from Capaldi but he didn't really deliver IMHO, maybe he will get better.

The script was dire and the obssession with promoting homosexuallity is wearing very thin. It's a kids/family program FFS.

Avoided Dr Who for years especially when it was some Poncy English Dr. Watched new one and Capaldi made a dull script watchable. If he gets a better writer then he will be the best Dr of all time.

a bit girl power, the Doctor was again rendered helpless and the ladies had to carry the day. Combine that with the doctor abandoning (Clara is still hot though) to her fate (admittedly to rescue her later) was totally un Doctor like.

I quite enjoyed it but, yes, the writing was dire.
