Well they wouldn't find my child there on his own.

That your opinion tells us more about you then it gives any objective point to the Mcann situation. You have managed to scrape together some pretty dodgy reasons to justify your stance,. Perhaps you could tell us at what point was it that the Mcanns became irresponsible? should they have not been having a "Jolly"? If they had been attending a church service that was as miserarble as sin (pardon the pun) would that have justified leaving their children alone. What if they had only left them alone for ten minutes or five or even 30 seconds?

tell us where the line should be drawn.

What a piece of work you are.
        Do you call that logic?

The kid in Liverpool - Bulger? - his mother turned her back for 3 seconds - that was tragic.

Leave a kid for 3 hours - thats looking for it.

You sacrifice your own freedoms for your children. End of story. Yes they're annoying ungrateful bastards who break your heart, house and bank. But that is what being a parent is about.

Lets discuss this situation instead of going off at a tangent.
It's pretty simple, don't leave very young children unattended. Madeleine was three the other children were two.

Is it acceptable to leave a 3 year old and 2 year olds alone and go out for a drink? Yes or No?

I leave my son alone and unattended all the time, evenings, weekends and so on. But then again he is 23 (I think). However when he was younger he always had a responsible adult keeping an eye on him. We've all read the horror stories in the press and there was no way I was ever going to not let him out of my, or someone's, eyesight
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

When my kids were young we all used to go on holiday together to enjoy time together. I was working away a lot of the time so it was a great chance for me to spend a fortnight in their company.

If we went for a meal late at night we would take the kids with us. We would find a bar with music so they could dance about and enjoy themselves whilst me & Mrs Batcher would enjoy watching them and have a couple of drinks.

Leaving them alone in a strange place whilst we went out for a meal and drinks was unthinkable and selfish. Even if there was a babysitting service available we would prefer to have the kids out with us anyway. We didn't see it as a chore.
