Putting the most favourable possible interpretation on the facts, he fired a lethal weapon through a door at person or persons unknown. Punishing that with anything less than jail time surely gives South Africans carte blanche to open fire on anyone on their property, ask questions later....My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.Comment

The defence would do well to take that and let it go.
The prosecution will appeal it as either the wrong judgement, the wrong sentence or both.
Part of the defence argument was that he had no money. If that's the case, shouldn't they be after a longer sentence so he has somewhere to live for a few years more?Comment
