Seriously, what a load of waffle. Couldn't he or she at least provide at the start a summary of their argument?

You did not actually understand anything in what I said, and it is not that complex a statement.

I couldn't disagree with you more.

There is a monumental difference between belief, faith devotion to a deity whatever you chose to call it and RELIGION.

Religion is about organisation of the "faithful" into temples/churches/mosques whatever you call them with collective behaviors. No matter how wonderful the original intention behind the Religion was the truth is that leaders will arise, organisation will happen and then the structure of a political organisation is in place.
You have to be mind bendingly naive to believe that Religion (which has nothing to do with actual faith) is anything other than a means to exert political power.

That's claptrap. It's on a par with government conspiracy theories about a "secret truth" that all those "running the religions" don't believe in anything and are just power-crazed sinister shadows.

Of course there is an element of this but that's very different from suggesting the religions only developed for this purpose (OK R.C. you have an argument but that's only one denomination).

Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

I have quite a few Muslim friends on facebook - what I've noticed in the past few years (more so in last 6 months) is the radicalisation of many into not believing anything the west/UK says. people who I considered moderate have become extreme to say the least, it amused me at 1st but it's becoming a disturbing trend

And in a lot of cases they have very good points, there views are also just as extreme in the opposite of what I have seen in here
