Posting himself in a box was more expensive than a seat, but he could organise cash on delivery as he'd had his money stolen
What's also amazing is the picture about halfway down - "How Reg Spiers might have fitted into the crate", If the Beeb have got that right, I would estimate that he is around eleven feet tall!!!
