The writing is on the wall

2 contractors terminated yesterday, budget cuts.
    Project plan with un-reachable timeline.
Resources at 120% commitment before cuts.

    Time to fire up jobserve.

I thought I could coast here until the end of the year, but the ax might fall in the middle of summer with no hope of a role. Best to head off now. Shame to give up a good role

It's only a good role if it has a serious chance of lasting smoothly to the end of the contract. Shame, but at least you understand the realities of contracting.

It all depends how you define "good"

For me it's: little work, lots of pay.

If the warchest is up to it, is there a big problem with taking the summer off?
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

Reasonable argument. Helps if the work is interesting though

I have already rented out anywhere I would like to stay for the summer. I was planning on buying another property, this summer was going to give me the cash to do it.

These guys are messing with my plans

              sorry to hear that
