Nope. Tried this earlier this year with a company I dissolved 7 years ago.
I disolved a company 3 years ago - browsing Companies House records- I notice someone has started up a new company with the same name - so I believe the answer is yes

I was clearly given duff information then. I did what someone earlier suggested and just choose a similar name.
The only concern my accountant had was whether the previous company had dissolved owing money. Using the same name could leave to problems as the company was only dissolved 18 months ago.
Its a great name and I couldnt resist Beating Moustached Bean Eating Bedsit Living Ruskies Ltd.
