I got kicked out a contract once after I'd started. I wonder if that counts as a draw :-)

The thing is when we have such discussions on here, is everyones situation / skills / market is different.

if you have many, many, years in a specialism and a solidy built reputation you should fail very few interviews.
This also links directly into the coversation, with regards to, how much experience you had, in a discipline before you set out contracting.

If you are a pretty useless, lazy, jack of all trades, with few years experience, then your hit rate is going to be lower.

In the last 4 years (3 roles), I've been "interviewed" once and that was to discuss my role in the project with the team I'd be joining. On all 3 occasions the client contacted the agent and asked for me specifically, or contacted me directly.

So, 3 different contracts, I didn't apply for any of them and was only interviewed for one. What does that make my recent hit rate? 300%?

If we look further back over 15+ years, the interview to job rate is probably 75% ish. I appear to be able to talk myself into jobs.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

          You have seen my CV??????

          I like the changing clients
