I think a div tax coming in immediately is highly unlikely. It has already been announced for April 2016 and doesn't really make sense to kick in mid way through a tax year. It would probably hurt Osbourne himself as much as the rest of us, bearing in mind his 15% share in the company business.

I'm not one for trying to second guess budget proposals but if it is effectively immediately I'll apologise to PC for calling him out all these years.

Well it's an interesting question. I've already stepped in to the 40% band this year so I think I'm best to wait until next year if I can, and take a hit at 7.5% then instead of 32.5% now.

On the other hand, there a chance I'll be a perm next year so I won't be able to take divs next year either.

Thoughts? What would you do? (apart from not go perm of course).

Thanks for the reminder, I usually take dividends in March, but it's a sensible precaution.
