Is it normal to have to send over a copy of your passport when signing up for a trading account?

They need ID yes, but I tend to use driver's licence and utility bill for address.

If they want to see a bank statement I've got an account with like £10 in I use for ID purposes only.
I was miserable and depressed, but CUK turned it all around. Now I'm depressed and miserable.

In general any financial transactions where you can gain money (which means insurance doesn't have to comply) mean the financial firm needs to be able to identify who you are.

Thanks. I hate the fact that these days I'm essentially giving enough info to random people that they could kill me off and assume my identity :s
