We operate Channel Crossing Safety Boat to escort unusual trips across the English Channel by your chosen means. We are based in Rye Harbour only 6 miles from the crossing route from Dungeness in Sussex to Boulogne in France. The distance between France and the UK at this point is only 25 Nautical miles. Some recent channel crossings using our support vessels service include:

Kayak – If you are interested in trying to cross the channel by kayak have a look at our Kayak the English Channel page.
Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) – If your interested have a look in more detail at stand up paddle board channel crossing page.

I used to do a lot of white-water kayaking. What with strainers (fallen trees and debris you can get caught in) and washing machines and stoppers (waterfalls, drops and weirs that you can't get out of) I had a far greater fear of drowning than I've ever done as a diver.

Personally I prefer it when they speak English. Maybe I am doing it wrong?
